Bad news for Percy Jackson fans. The release of the Percy Jackson movie sequel, Sea of Monsters, has been pushed back. Originally slated for March 2013, it is now set to be released August 16, 2013. That is a pretty major shift!
Why is the new Percy Jackson movie being delayed? No one has said for sure. But there have been a number of movie release dates changed for 2013 including Thor 2, Lone Ranger, and Robopocalypse (which was bumped to 2014). Some of them may be due to production but usually movies are moved at this point for competition reasons.
Hopefully this will be the last time that we see the release date moved and we will start getting some teasers early in the year.
